John Stanley Associates Partial Scholarships

Helping agritourism businesses grow — with training support when it matters most

John Stanley Associates is proud to offer a limited number of partial scholarships each year, providing subsidised access to the Agritourism Training Academy complete training program.

We know that when you’re building something on-farm—juggling seasons, staffing, compliance, cashflow, and family life—training can be the very thing that accelerates growth, yet also the hardest thing to fund. These scholarships exist to help remove that barrier for businesses that are ready to take action.

What the scholarship provides

Successful applicants receive a partial scholarship issued as a discount code for enrolment in the Agritourism Training Academy complete program.

Discount levels are assessed case-by-case based on individual circumstances and available funding.

Who this is for

You’re encouraged to apply if you:

-Are building or growing a visitor experience (farm gate, tours, pick-your-own, tastings, events, workshops, accommodation, education and more)

-Can demonstrate financial need

-Can commit at least 2 hours per week to complete training and implement changes

-You are a student who wants to enter this industry as a career- please note this course is written for businesses.

How it works (key terms)

Evergreen applications: Apply any time. Applications are assessed as funding becomes available.

Limited and competitive: Applying does not guarantee a scholarship.

One scholarship per business or person (lifetime): A business or person may receive support only once. (A small team from the same business is welcome to complete the training together.)

Acceptance timeframe: If offered a scholarship, you must accept within 14 days.

Discount code expiry: Discount codes must be used to enrol within 30 days of issue.

Non-transferable: Discount codes are for the approved business/team only.

Refund policy: Once a discount code has been issued and used to enrol, the discounted amount is not refundable.

Testimonial requirement: Scholarship recipients agree to provide a testimonial in any format (written, video, audio, or social post).

What we look for

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the most common questions about the Agritourism Training Academy and how it can support your farm business

Who is the Agritourism Training Academy for?

The Academy is designed for farmers, growers, and rural business owners who want to diversify or strengthen their income through agritourism — whether you’re just exploring the idea or already welcoming visitors and looking to improve your experience, profitability, or clarity.

Do I need to already be running an agritourism business?

No. The training is suitable for both beginners and established operators. If you’re at the idea stage, it will help you decide if agritourism is right for your farm. If you’re already operating, it will help you refine your story, improve visitor experience, and stand out in a competitive market.

Is this course practical, or is it mostly theory?

This training is highly practical. It focuses on real-world examples, clear frameworks, and actionable tools you can apply directly to your farm business. The goal is to help you make confident decisions and take meaningful steps forward, not overwhelm you with theory.

Will this help me make my agritourism business more profitable?

Yes. The Academy focuses on value creation, pricing strategy, visitor experience, and point of difference — all key drivers of profitability. While results depend on implementation, the training is designed to help you move from “price-taker” to “value-maker.”

How is this different from general tourism or small business courses?

Agritourism has unique challenges — from biosecurity and farm flow to storytelling, retail principles, and visitor expectations. This Academy is built specifically for farm-based experiences, combining tourism, retail, and agricultural realities in a way generic business courses don’t.

How is the training delivered, and can I do it at my own pace?

The Agritourism Training Academy is delivered online, allowing you to work through the content at your own pace. It has a mix of videos, text to read through and optional hand outs. Each new module is released a week after the previous one, to allow you to not feel overwhelmed by having everything in one hit and to provide the time to work through each module. This makes it practical for busy farm schedules, seasonal workloads, and family-run operations.
